Juvéderm® is an FDA
approved, safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that
restores volume and fullness to the skin. It is made of
hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a natural substance found
in the skin. It is present in abundance in youthful skin
and declines with aging. The filler provides both
hydration and volume. It is used to correct moderate to
severe facial wrinkles and folds as well as to enhance
the appearance and to provide fullness to the lips.
Juvéderm® is injected directly into the skin in tiny
amounts with an ultrafine needle. To ensure your comfort
during the procedure, Dr. Brownsberger provides
anesthesia to the treatment area with nerve blocks,
topical numbing medicine, or deep skin cooling.
The results are instantaneous. The most common side
effects are temporary redness, swelling, and bruising at
the treatment site. These typically resolve within two to
five days.
Juvéderm® is the first smooth consistency HA gel. While
other HA fillers, like Restylane, have a more granular consistency,
Juvéderm® is made with an innovative manufacturing
process that gives Juvéderm® its unique smooth-gel
